Junior Swimming Sports

Today we had a fun, hot and interesting day meeting new friends at the swimming sports. We did obstacle courses, tug of war, playground fun and swimming. At the end we had champion races in freestyle and backstroke, didn't Elizabeth and Thomas do well!

Monarch butterflies

The monarch butterfly  starts as an egg. When it hatches it is a greedy, hungry caterpillar. Soon it is big and fat and then it turns into a cocoon. A few weeks after it hatches into a beautiful butterfly. 

Thomas' book report

I have been reading a book called Vietnam War by Stuart Murray. It is a non fiction book so it is real. My favourite bit is about choppers. I find it very interesting because it tells about different types of choppers like the Cobra Attack helicopter, cargo helicopters and the flying crane helicopter. I like this book because I'm thinking about joining the army when I'm 20. My brother joined the army when he was 20.

Hannah's book report

I read a book called Wolf by Geoffrey Malone. It's a fiction book. Daniel and Tom went hunting for Wolf in a helicopter. They saw a moose tossing his antlers at the wolf. It takes time to read the book because it's a long book but it's worth the read. You don't know what's going to happen next.

Rabbit Island

The whole school went to Rabbit Island to celebrate the start of the school year. It was pouring down when we left but the rain cleared and we had a lovely day exploring, playing and then swimming. We also managed to find a penguin - unfortunately he had passed away!

Powhiri to Welcome our new teacher

We had a lovely Powhiri to welcome our new teacher. It was a lovely welcome followed by shared kai and a swim!
