During writing Middle Roomers have been working on hooking the reader and show not tell. We try really hard to engage the reader with an interesting opening sentence. Throughout our story we work hard to show what is happening rather than tell.

Rain

When the rain has stopped the tiny dew drops sparkle on spider webs and leaves. When its pouring the worms poke their heads out of the brown blanket. People stay indoors by the flames in the box. The trees smash in with the flames like a bush fire. When the rain comes down it freezing but steaming inside. Pitter, patter you hear up above. You will sleep nice and cosy tonight thanks to the rain.

I am a T-Rex

Roar, its killing time! Stomp, stomp, stomp one stranded aplodocus coming right up. Roar, snap. I sink my jaws in to the adult aplodocus. She runs as fast as a turtle. She now carries a mortal wound. The aplodocus will give up and I get to eat.

stegosarus

Prolific ferns are all around me. Whats that? “Oh no I’m in a thunderstorm. Eeeek” a big stegosaurus approached me. “Eee” what the? “Ahhh “not good, stegosaurus run! Hes after me. Roar the stegosaurus is stuck. His tail is stuck in a tree. Two hours later…flames squiggle and squirm as they approach the sky. A baby diplodocus has died, there goes another one…another one. Mean while roar…by luke

AMMONITES

The ground used to be the sea bed and then New Zealand came up from the sea and put all the ammonites up. A big earth quake pushed New Zealand up out of the water. We worked out what the difference between molds and fossils.

at the museum

At the museum we learnt about ammonites and marine reptiles. We got put in groups of about six and we moved around five activities. One of the activities was a clay imprinting another activity was imagining the size of a giant shark using ropes, one rope was six meters and the size of its tail and the another rope was nine meters long which was the giant sharks body if you put them together thats fifteen meters long.

Dinosaurs dinosaurs dinosaurs!

What don't we know about these majestic creatures?! We have been looking back in time and seeing what life was like in the Triassic, Jurassic and cretaceous period. In these photos we are sorting out what things happened when. Do you know when the dinosaurs lived or died?
